First day of spring!! – 18w6d
by Photobug Mom ~ March 20th, 2006. Filed under: pregnancy #1.One week from tomorrow I will be 20 weeks pregnant!!! Ya!!! I am almost half way through. How exciting!! He weighs approximately 8-9 oz now, still very tiny. However, I think I finally felt his movement last Monday. They were two very quick tapping at my lower left abdomen. It actually felt quite different from gas. I’ve been feeling him once or twice for the past week, with the exception of a couple of days not feeling anything. They said it’s common not too have regular fetal movement until about 24 weeks or so. It’s so nice to know that he is getting stronger everyday. I can’t wait to feel his strong kick constantly!!
Also, he can start hearing the sound outside the womb and is able to recognize my voice!! That’s so wonderful. I’ve been talking to him more and more and love it. I feel more and more like a mother everyday.
This morning I weighed myself and it was 127.5 lbs, which put me at 8.5 lbs weight gain starting the time I bought the scale. I am happy with it. I’ve been trying to eat lots of fruit and whole grain stuff but still give in to some junk snacks, like instant noodles, at times. :b
I went to do the maternity clothes shopping last week and over the weekend. Got some nice spring long sleeves shirts and a couple of dresses and pants at the discounted price. It’s the first day of spring today but it’s snowy this morning and the temperature was only at lower 30’s. I hope the spring come soon so I can wear lighter weight clothes or, even better, dresses. I hate pants that don’t fit right. At the store I heard this lady saying to her mother “I will never wear dresses when I am pregnant.” Not me!!!
Talked to Dr. Allan over the phone regarding my cyst last Thursday. She told me there is a remote chance of cancer but she would feel pretty comfortable to wait until six weeks after delivery to take care of it if we need to. (Of course I hope it will disappear itself then.) She said according to my last u/s, it looked like to her that my cyst was collapsing and it did get a little bit smaller. She also reassured me that both my ovaries are fine. Cyst just stretches it but doesn’t eat away the ovary. As long as there is no torsion my ovaries are fine and at the stage of pregnancy I am at the chance of torsion happening is getting smaller. I felt much better after talking to her. I know no doctor can guarantee me 100% that it’s not cancerous. However according to the doctor’s response and my own intuition, I feel chances are pretty good that my cyst is benign. Of course I am still praying everyday that it gets smaller and smaller everyday and soon disappear all together!!! Keeping my fingers crossed!!
