Lilypie Fourth Birthday tickers Lilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

social life

Before we find a good babysitter, we probably won’t be able to have a romantic dinner at a restaurant or go to a movie for a long long time. We did manage to take a family walk with Cyrus the day before yesterday. Even though it’s only an hour or so and just in the neighborhood, it made me, the ultimate feeding machine, feel a lot better. That was the first time I got out of the house after Cyrus was born, except the trips to his doctors of course.

Last night, we were invited to our neighbor’s across the street for an evening dessert. We were planning on going there at 8:30pm but Cyrus started fussing and rooting even though I just fed him not too long ago. There was no way we’re going to take a crying/screaming baby there so I changed him, fed him, and finally got him to sleep in his car seat 40 minutes later. We had a two-hour nice and enjoyable visit with Jeannine and Denish until Matt unwisely got him out of the car seat and woke him up. (He was worried Cyrus wasn’t comfortable sitting in the car seat for so long.) Cyrus was actually making some snoring like noises when he was sleeping in the car seat. I was wondering if it’s because his head was slightly bent forward. Anyway, once he started crying, the party was over. (It’s getting late for me anyway.) Jeannine actually baked a really delicious chocolate cake for us and let us take a big portion of it home, which was very nice of her. Even though with a baby to deal with, we should find a time to invite them over. I think it’s important to still be able to maintain a social life after having a child.
