Journey with You

Cyrus is 7 months old now. Time is going really fast. I was watching Cyrus’ birth video the other day. Boy, he was so tiny. Children grow up too quickly. It’s so true.

Just a few weeks ago he wasn’t able to sit without support. Now he can sit and play with toys for a while all by himself. I usually put a pillow behind him just in case if he falls backwards. He is getting really good. He can handle being on tummy for a long time too. He can use his two arms to move toward left, right, and backwards. He didn’t mean to move backwards of course. Yesterday I saw him on his all four and swayed his body back and forth for a few seconds. I only caught the very last on tape. I hope he will do it again. On that note, we really need to get started on baby proofing. He is going to crawl in no time. Maybe we need to lower his crib also.

He starts to imitate as well. He waved goodbye to me the other day and copy me pounding on the floor.

After we came back from the trip, I stopped nursing him to sleep. Instead, I put him in the crib and let him cry to sleep. He’s been sleeping in his crib for daytime naps as well as night sleep. He started with 15 to 20 minutes crying but it gradually got better. He only cries about 5 minutes for naps currently. It takes him longer to fall asleep at night, sometimes 10 minutes, other times 30 minutes. I still need to learn his sleepy signals. He still wakes up during the night to nurse. I am working on this part. I let him cry for half hour last night but gave up and nursed him. It’s hard to ignore him when he is in the same room with you.

As for eating, he is eating barley cereal, apple, and carrots. I gave him some cooked pears today and he seemed to like it. He doesn’t seem like a fussy eater so as long as he isn’t allergic, I am going to add a couple of things a week so he has different varieties.
