descipline
Tuesday, June 26th, 2007Cyrus likes to pull himself up and cruise around the house. He can hang on to tables, chairs, couch, and even mom and dad. If we hold his hands, he can walk for a few steps but decides it’s more efficient to crawl! I can’t wait to see his first step!
For the past couple weeks, he started reading by himself. When I was busy doing things or browsing Internet (:b), I decided to see what he was doing because it was so quite. Then I noticed he was reading one of the baby books laying around. Not sure if he actually reads or simply flips pages. It’s very cool no matter what. Sometimes he also made noises like he was enjoying himself. I’ve tried to videotape him reading but he would stop and see what I was up to when he heard the beep sound from the camcorder.
I’ve also noticed that he’s finally learned to hold two objects in each hand and bang them together. Though human don’t need that skill to make fires anymore, it’s still in our genes.
I went to have a regular dental checkup yesterday and let DH watched Cyrus. As soon as I sat down in the dentist’s office, my cell phone rang. “What should I do? It seems like he is looking for you. He crawls around the house and stops at the door (the door I left from). He bangs on the door, crying, and makes almost like “ma ma” kind of sound.” DH said. I told DH it’s probably his naptime. It’s so sweet to imagine him looking for me all over the house. What a sweet heart!
Cyrus’ been acting like a spoiled child. He would object when we take away a toy. When we went for a walk with Traci and Ruby yesterday, they let him play with a water bottle they brought. When I gave it back to them while we were ready to go home, Cyrus started protesting. This morning he wanted to grab books and papers next to the computer and I stopped him, he cried too. I guess these are all signs that it’s time for him to learn discipline!!!! We definitely don’t want to spoiled brat!
