Lilypie Fourth Birthday tickers Lilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

11 months old

I’ve been way for a while. We took a couple of long trips. Packing and unpacking. Cleaning the house. I simply didn’t have time to update my journal.

I wanted to write down a lot of things though. Cyrus is 11 months old. When we visited my aunt in New Jersey, he climbed the stairs like it’s nothing. He’d never done it before that. I was so impressed. He’s been sleeping through the night. I don’t need to nurse from midnight until 6am. I finally get to have a long stretch of sleep. So nice!!!

On July 8th, two days before he turned 11 months old, I saw him taking the first step!! I was so excited and gasp. He then looked at me and sat down. On the day he turned 11 months, he finally took a couple of small steps towards me. I was so thrilled. He’s been taking a couple of steps here and there. I am wondering when he is going to actually WALK.

Seeing him taking steps simply amazes me. It’s only like yesterday that he was born. I can still remember how fragile and vulnerable he was. He is so big now. I love watching him sound asleep. He looks so peaceful when he is sleeping. I love him so much.

I’ve also noticed that he seems to show the sign of separation anxiety. He simply wants to be “next to me” all the time. He would stands right next to me when I am working on the computer. He wants me to hold him all the time. It’s hard at times. I feel I can’t get anything done.

He’s eating a lot of variety of food now. I still make smooth/creamy baby food for him but I am also offering him finger food and table food. He’s got the top two front teeth and that really helps. He can chew on meat and semi-soft fruit and veggies without problem. He’s also learned to put the food in his mouth. That saves me a lot of work. He can handle Teddy Puffs and Cheerios now. I don’t know why but I couldn’t find any organic cheerios at all. The Teddy Puffs is organic but I think it has too much sugar in it.

He loves noodles a lot. He can finish half of the cup at a time. I am not sure about giving babies too much starch though. We’re trying to use whole wheat noodles whenever we can but obviously they are much harder to chew on. We eat brown rice all the time so that’s good.

It’s getting kind of late now. I think I’ll post more later.
