way behind and deeply depressed…
by Photobug Mom ~ June 18th, 2008. Filed under: Cyrus' growth.I can’t believe my blogging here becomes once a month kind of thing. It’s making me sad. I want to post more frequently but I am still trying to figure out how. I simply don’t have TIME.
We finally have a dishwasher. Thank God for the dishwasher. It saves me a lot of time and aggravation. I always feel so stressed when dishes are piling up. I usually have to spend a good half hour to do the dishes before I can do any cooking. My evening was simply spent on doing dishes. It also annoyed me when there was not enough room to dry my dishes. Now that we have a dishwasher, it took me about ten minutes to load the dishes then I can go and clean other stuff around the dining room and kitchen. I also have more time for Cyrus and for myself.
Weeks ago we took Cyrus to the Toronto zoo and it was a blast. We got there around two o’clock and didn’t leave until almost seven. We still didn’t see everything. The zoo is so huge you need a whole day to see everything. Cyrus’ favorite that day was rhino, probably because he watches rhino in the Babar.
The week after the trip to the zoo, our whole family got sick like dogs for about a week. It was awful. I hadn’t got that sick for a long long time and it hit me quite hard. I wasn’t nursing anymore so I took some cold medicine to ease my symptoms so I can still go to work and function, to some extent.
The first week of June we drove to Long Island for my brother-in-law’s fancy, elaborate, and expensive wedding. We had to stay at the Castle and it cost more than our honeymoon suite. (I got to take two great baths though.) We also spent two hundred dollars on a sitter. We were so lucky to meet Jessica. she was so good at Cyrus and was willing to stay a little bit later for me. She was four months pregnant and I was hoping I could get some baby-luck from her. Unfortunately I didn’t. Anyways, I don’t know how we can survive the day without Jessica. DH was the best man and I was a bridesmaid. We were simply too occupied. We were so grateful to have her.
I have her come in at ten o’clock so we can get Cyrus to get use to her. Three of us took a walk outside the place and that seemed to help a lot. She fed Cyrus lunch when I was in and out of the room. I went to the bridal suite to get ready with the bride and other girls while Cyrus was taking a nap and Jessica was in the room with him.
I had her brought Cyrus down for the ceremony and he was very good, didn’t make a sound or try to run around. About half hour into the ceremony I saw she and Cyrus walked slowly back toward the building. I guess he was getting restless. I’m sure the ceremony must be quite boring for a baby.
I was hoping Cyrus could have had dinner with us but the dinner didn’t start until almost nine o’clock. The whole dinner was blasted with loud music. We decided it’s too late and too loud for him. I called the room and Jessica told me Cyrus was tired and she was about to put him to bed. I was fine with that. I finished my dinner just in time to go upstairs to be with Cyrus when it’s time for Jessica to go.
The next day was a extremely hot day. We were leaving for home around noon and Cyrus was screaming his head off until we actually hit the road. We didn’t need to stop until dinner time. We stopped at a MacDonald for some nuggets and fries. We made it home around 10:30pm which wasn’t bad at all.
