I should have posted this when we first found out at the BIG ulstrasound but things have been crazy. My work office moved and we didn’t have Internet for a week. I didn’t have time to go online after work. I am not as tired and sick as before but still not really up for any late night thing, except for once a while movie watching with DH.
The baby was healthy and we’re so grateful. I’ve been feeling her movement for the past few months. I think I had the first fetal movement at around the same time with Cyrus. It feels a little bit different this time though. With Cyrus, it felt like worms moving in my belly and this time it feels like bubbles! Either way, I LOVE it.
I have to admit that I was a little bit disappointed to know it’s not a boy. I am somehow obsessed with the idea of “my boys”. But I don’t feel that way any longer. It would be very nice to have a little girl in our family. There will be some changes and I’ll need to learn how to be a girl’s mother but I think everything is going to come into place on its own. DH and I are simply so excited about this new member of our family!
I made a hat for him for his first winter and this is my second try. I am very pleased with the result. I got the pattern from Ravelry and revised it to a striped hat for a toddler. It was so much faster when you knit with a circular needle! I bought the yarn at Elmwood Yarn Shop and the owner (?) there was very helpful. She pretty much told me how many stitches to cast on and that’s all I needed to know to get started.
I am now working on the similar hat for DH so they can have father-son matching hat.
