Dear Cyrus Daddy,
After lunch, we visited an old neighbor. This was the first time for years that I went back there. I still remember what uncle and aunt looked like, but not anyone else. I was surprised to see how small our house was. I didn’t remember it that small. I lived there until I was in the first grade. Then we moved. So sad to see the house abandoned. The scenery from the place is still great. You can see the harbor and ocean. I can still remember the beautiful sunrise over the ocean.
I also saw the rail road nearby and the bridge over it. The bridge is for pedestrian only. I remember I used to love standing on the bridge and watching trains go by beneath me. That was so long ago and the bridge is abandoned as well.
I also met Angela, Ray, and her family yesterday. Their son is a toddler now. He was very curious about Cyrus and his car seat. He was okay sharing a couple of small toys with Cyrus at first. But then he took them all away and held them tight in his arms once Angela took the big Winnie the pooh out. I didn’t know why. Cyrus didn’t understand anyway so it was fine.
We had shabu-shabu for dinner last night. Yungping’s girlfriend came along too. It was so dilicious. I wish there was a shabu-shabu place in Buffalo. The waitress said "Wow, he has beautiful eyes, is he native (native Taiwanese)?" when she saw Cyrus. We said "no, he isn’t." She then said "he looked like a foreigner (usually means white people)." It’s really interesting how everyone reacts differently when they see Cyrus.
Love, Esther and Cyrus
